Phyno does not want to be addressed as a rapper next time.
One of the finest ‘rappers’ from the east of Nigeria, Phyno doesn’t want
to be tagged as a rapper any more. The ‘Ghost Mode’ crooner wants to
break out of the stereotype of being labelled as a rapper, worst still a
rapper who switched lanes to sing.
The debate on who and who murdered hip hop in Nigeria is still going on.
Phyno in a brief chat with HipTV addressed the label that he is a
rapper who quit rapping to singing to make more money. He says he
shouldn’t be called a rapper but be considered as a musician.
Phyno added that he is only a musician who blew up as a rapper however,
he can’t be boxed to a particular type of music. He says he is a
musician because he can produce, rap or sing.
