The Dam was upgraded from 2000 mega watts to 3050 mega watts in 2015 by the then minister of power now the Executive Governor of Taraba State Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku. This Dam no doubt when completed will put to rest the electricity problem of the country.
The current National electricity grid which around 3000 to 3500 mega watts is almost equivalent to the power which will be generated by the Mambilla hydro power Dam. We on this note appreciate the federal government and the president for taking this bold step in solving the light insufficiency of the nation.
