Jalingo - Plans have been put in place to commence the use of daily commercial flight operation in Jalingo, Taraba state capital. According to Governor Darius Ishaku the Taraba state Governor.
While addressing audience in the Christian reformed Church of Nigeria (CRCN) magami, the governor said that the daily flights will go along way into accelerating his developmental effortts in the state.
Governor Ishaku said that the daily flights
will assist in airlifting at least one tone of
vegetables and cucumber from the state to
other parts of the country for sales.
“We are doing our best to reposition the
state. The opening up of the sky to daily
flights will enable Federal Government
officials and intending prospective investors
to move in and out of Jalingo without
difficulties,” he said.

The governor noted that his Rescue Agenda
was touching lives in all socio-economic
sectors, with the hope that within four years,
a lot would have been achieved.
Before the commencement of commercial
flights by Overland, to travel to Abuja from
Taraba by air, residents must go to Yola,
Adamawa State, about 135 kilometres away,
to take a flight.
Those returning from Abuja by air had to
land in Yola before driving down to Taraba.
