The Supreme Court has rejected his request to withdraw his suit against Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku.
It would be recalled that in an exclusive interview with journalists, Chief Kente had ordered his lawyer to
withdraw the case, citing personal reasons for the action.
Kente had said that the case was becoming a money guzzler, alleging that both the Governor and other
opposition elements were feeding fat on the suit.
He also said he had nothing to gain in the case, even as he advanced a sum of N500,000 (five hundred
thousand naira) as cost to withdraw the suit.
But in a new development, the Supreme Court had written Kente’s lawyers stressing that the case must go on,
and April 7th has been set aside for judgement on the matter.
An aide of Kente, Kelvin Nuvalga told Journalists that his boss was no longer interested in the matter as it
does not reflect his current political direction.
