We have forgotten that just a few years ago, we
were sleeping with one of our eyes open because of
fear of attack, because one Umar made us
enemies, especially in the Southern part of the
state. Killings and destruction of property were the
order of the day. Now, somebody has worked very
had to restore the peace we currently enjoy across
the state. How can we forget such so soon?
How can we easily forget when some so-called
herdsmen sacked whole villages and uprooted
people in Wukari, Bali and many other parts of the
state, taking over their farms and lands? How can
we forget so soon that the fresh air of peace we
now breathe is thanks to the Architect of peace?
How do we easily forget that it took only an
Architect to redesign and dualize the Jalingo
market road, which was initially designed for a
single lane? How can we easily forget that there
was only a single storey building on the market
road before now, but as at today, I have lost count
of the number of towering buildings on that road?
It's obvious that the Architect paid full
compensation to all those whose makeshift
structures in the name of houses were demolished.
How can we easily forget that before now, you
could hardly driving through that road without your
car being bashed by Keke NAPEP?
With the installation of Solar streetlight on that
road, even if your pin drops to the ground at night,
you can easily retrieve it.
How do we easily forget the once deplorable
Magami road? We have suddenly forgotten that
some portions of that road, at a point, were
becoming near impassable, but today, we can drive
smoothly and comfortably on that road. We can't
forget that it is all as a result of the untiring
efforts of Governor Darius Ishaku that a success
story is told today.
How we forget so soon how we had to wake up
very early to brave through the poor Zing - Mayo-
Belwa road either from Jalingo to Yola or vice
versa, with all the stresses involved. You can't
forget so soon that, if you are a frequent air
traveller like myself, you won't forget how today
you can seat in the comfort of your office and
simply put a call to the airport to for an e-booking.
Governor Ishaku has made that possible. How do
we easily forget those dark days in Jalingo, when
we could hardly get light for more than three hours
per day. But now, we can boost of 24 hours of
electricity. This did not just happen, it was the fruit
of having a onetime minister of power as governor,
who turn the situation around. Who could have
been better placed to know that some of our
megawatts were being diverted to other places
other than the Architect himself?
Because of his love for humanity, DDI paid all
outstanding bills and today we all enjoy
uninterrupted electricity supply. How we easily
forget that!
How we easily forget that when the Ishaku
Administration assumed function, Taraba state was
technically broke, rendered so by a man who
became known as "ATM", because he could easily
dole out N1billion of the tsxpayers' hard-earned
money to the head of a political party, simply to be
Governor by hook or crook.
How can we easily forget that someone indebted
the state to the tune of over N12billion, and today
that debt has nearly been settled by a prudent
leader, who has diligently managed the resources
of the state?
How can we easily forget that it is on record that
accidents occurred on an average of 2 per day
along the Hammaruwa Way, because the road
lacked good shoulders? But, today there is almost
zero accident there. That is why many call the
Governor "Mai-Shoulder."
How can we easily forget that before DDI came to
the helm of affairs in Taraba, all our taps were dry!
Many are still imagining the magic wand, which the
Architect used to get water flowing within 30 days
of his administration.
How can we suddenly forget that we had so many
illegal parks, which posed security threats to lives
and property? The very tactful Governor dismantled
them all, without much resistance. How we easily
forget those two years "
