State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC), on Sunday hailed President Mohammadu Buhari for appointing the State Chairman of the party, Alhaji Ardo Jika Hassan as a non-career Ambassador from Taraba to replace Alhaji Mustapha Jaji who was earlier nominated for the position. In a press statement issued in Jalingo and signed by the State Legal Adviser of the party, Halilu Yakubu Esq.,said the appointment of Ardo Jika Hassan would no doubt strengthen the party in the State. While wishing the State APC Chairman well in his new assignment, the statement added that the appointment was in line with President Buhari’s promise to reward party members who worked tirelessly for the success of the party. “Mr. President has repeatedly promised to reward hard work. So, the nomination of our amiable State party chairman did not come to us as a surprise, given the good work he has been doing in moving the party forward. “We want to call on our members, supporters and the entire State to support Mr. Ardo in his new assignment to do the State and nation proud in his new assignment,” part of the statement read. It could be recalled that the Senate had last year rejected a list of 47 non-career Ambassadorial nominees sent by President Buhari following complaints from various stakeholders. The new list with 46 nominees has Mrs. Uzoma Emenike (Abia), Aminu Iyawa (Adamawa), General Godwin Umo (Akwa Ibom), Christopher Okeke (Anambra), Yusuf Maitama Tuggar (Bauchi), Baba Madugu (Bauchi), General Stanley Diriyai (Bayelsa) Steven Ugba (Benue) Baba Ahmed Jidda (Borno) Etubom Asuquo (Cross River), Frank Efduma (Delta) Jonah Odo (Ebonyi), Uyagwe Igbe (Edo) and Eniola Ajayi (Ekiti). Also nominated are General Chris Eze (Enugu), Suleiman Hassan (Gombe), Justice Sylvanus Nsofor (Imo), Aminu Dalhatu (Jigawa), Ahmed Bamali (Kaduna), Deborah Iliya (Kaduna), Dandatti Abdulkadir (Kano), Haruna Ungogo (Kano), Justice Justice Isa Dodo (Katsina), Mohammedu Rimi Barade (Katsina), Tijjani Bande (Kebbi), Y. O. Aliu (Kogi) Nurudeen Mohammed (Kwara), Professor Mohammed G. Yisa (Kwara), Justice George Adesola Oguntade (Lagos), Modupe Irele (Lagos), Musa Ilu Mohammad (Nasarawa) and Ahmed Ibeto (Niger). Others are Suzanne Aderonke Folarin (Ogun), Jacob Daodu (Ondo), Afolahan Adeyemi (Osun), General Ashimiyu Olaniyi (Oyo), James G.
