The Presidential Committee on the North East
has donated the sum of N1m and medical
supplies to offset the medical bills of victims of
the recent bomb blast in Madagali local
government of Adamawa State.
A spokesman of the committee, Odutayo Oluseyi said
on Saturday in a statement that the Chairman sub-
committee on economic development, Hon. Yusuf
Buba Yakub made the donation while visiting the
victims at the General Hospital, Michika and Mubi
councils of the state.
The sub- committee Members who are on an on the
spot assessment and stakeholders engagement in
Adamawa and Taraba State had earlier visited Taraba
State, where they met with the State Governor,
Permanent Secretaries of Ministries, Agencies and
other officials on the challenges being faced due to
tribal and communal clashes and also the Internally
Displaced Persons (IDPs) of the Boko Haram
insurgency.
Yakub lauded the effort and commitment of the
Federal Government at substantially degrading
insurgency and enhancing the economy of the North
East.
“At a town hall meeting with stakeholders in
Madagali, Mitchika and Uba, he explained the
economic development of the Buhari plan as
channeled towards enhancing Health facilities,
Agriculture, Education, Entrepreneurship, Job
creation and rural infrastructure development of the
region as a priority of the administration,” the
statement said.
While inspecting the extent of damage done by
insurgency at Government Day secondary school,
Government Secondary schools and Central primary
school Madagali, Hon. Yakubu assured stakeholders
that the findings in areas of the challenges of the
people will be factored into the comprehensive plan
of the Presidential initiative for immediate
implementation.
The committee also visited the Emir of Mubi, Isah
Ahmadu who said he will appreciate Federal
Government quick intervention particularly in the
building of the Yola-Mubi Road, Healthcare facilities
and provision of food for his people.
