JALINGO—Female students of Taraba State
University have sent an SOS message to
authorities in the state over continued raid of
their hostels by armed robbers. The students,
who spoke to Vanguard at their hostels in
Jalingo, said robbers invaded their hostels and
carted away over 20 handsets, laptops and over
N700,000. Acting Vice Chancellor of the university,
Professor Catherine Musa, confirmed the
incident, describing it as an act of theft. She said
the matter was reported to her office and
blamed the insecurity in the institution on the
absence of perimeter fencing.
