PRESS STATEMENT
His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Taraba State, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku is committed to his plan to reposition the State-owned media houses in all aspects and particularly to meet the deadline for migration from analogue to digital platform by June 2017.
The Governor is impressed by the ongoing test transmission from the new studio of Taraba Television and is determined to provide all the necessary requirements that
will enable the Station to meet optimal Standard in broadcasting. He has enjoined the Staff to take advantage of the state-of-the-art facilities to raise their prestigious vocation to an enviable standard both locally and internationally. The official commissioning of the facility is in the pipeline, and plans are ongoing to move the entire establishment to its permanent site to enhance operations.
Similar plans to conclude the upgrade of Taraba State Broadcasting Service are actively in progress. Sufficient manpower and facilities are critical to its compliance with digitization requirements, and this is on the front burner of government plans for the media house.
The Governor is optimistic that the Rescue Mission of this administration is going to find suitable platform for engagement with the society through the media houses in terms of news, education, entertainment, economic revolution and social development among others.
Signed: Sylvanus Y. Giwa
