Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku has approved
the employment of one hundred and one Nurses
and engages fifty retired Nurses into the state
civil service.
The Commissioner for Health Innocent Vakai,
disclosed this during the bid opening for the
procurement of laboratory equipment and
furniture for the College of Nursing Jalingo and
the School of Health Technology Takum.
Innocent Vakai said the employment was in line
with the Governor’s rescue mission for the
Health sector and said the Nurses would be
posted to the sixteen local government areas of
the state.
The Commissioner also said that after procuring
the laboratory equipment, they would be
distributed to all the state Health facilities in the
state while the furniture will be given to the two
colleges.
Innocent Vakai assured the bidders of
transparency during the bidding evaluation and
promised to facilitate the process.
In a vote of thanks, the outgoing Permanent
Secretary of the State Ministry of Health, Ibrahim
Imam also assured the contractors of sincerity in
the process.
Ibrahim Imam thanked Governor Darius Ishaku
for the concern to the Ministry in approving all
memos relating to healthcare delivery in the
state and commended the Commissioner of
Health for his efforts in ensuring that the sector
is placed above others in the state.
