Governor, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku has commiserated with the Nigerian Union of
Journalists NUJ,Taraba State Chapter on the
passing on of one of Its member, Ahmed Wakili of the
Correspondents Chapel.
In a Press release signed by the Chief
Press Secretary to the State Governor, Hassan Mijinyawa described the sudden death, which occurred yesterday at the Specialists Hospital Jalingo as a journey that all mortals must pass through,
saying that, he died when the country is in dire
need of professionals in the field of Journalism
and other professional fields of endeavours now
that the country is faced with economic recession and political instability.
The Governor however, urge the leadership and
the entire members of the Nigeria Union of
Journalists not to allow his exit affect their
performance but should rather ginger them to
contribute constructively and meaningfully in
their reportage aimed at building a virile society
that promotes peaceful coexistence in the State
and country at large.
The release admonished all members of the NUJ
particularly the Correspondents Chapel to take
solace in the Lord at all times especially in an
event of death.
Before his death, Ahmed Wakili was writing for
Forefront Magazine.
