In view of the prevailing insecurity bedevilling the state, characterized by the recent attacks on communities in Gashaka LGA, the Taraba State House of Assembly is now having a close door meeting at the chambers of the House with Security Chiefs in the state and a few stakeholders.      

The Security Chiefs present are: The Commanding Officer, 20  Battalion Gashaka, Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Director, Department of State Security, as well as Caretaker Chairmen of both Gashaka and Bali LGAs.
Meanwhile, the Speaker Rt. Hon. Abel Peter Diah speaking at
Plenary, cautioned persons using the social media to stop peddling false information on the issue in Taraba.
He warned that the security agencies would not hesitate to prosecute whoever is found guilty of spreading false information. He added that the Freedom of Information as enshrined in the Constitution does not give the license to anyone to peddle false information.
It would be recalled that last week, the State Legislature had condemned the attacks on innocent communities in Gashaka and Bali LGAs where several lives were lost and properties destroyed.
