Gov. Darius Ishaku of
Taraba has directed the
state-owned university in
Jalingo, to suspend all
employments it carried out
from May 29, 2015 to date.
This is contained in letter
with reference number
MOE/S/34/169 dated
March 22, signed by one
Bala Fwadu, for the state Commissioner for
Education.
The letter, addressed to the Registrar, Taraba State
University, and obtained by the News Agency of
Nigeria (NAN) on Monday, indicated that the directive
was with immediate effect.
The contents of the letter read in part, “His
Excellency, the Executive Governor Arch. Darius
Dickson Ishaku, has directed that all employment of
staff in the University from 29th May, 2015 to date
have been suspended.’’
NAN gathered that the suspension has affected one
of the university’s renowned senior lecturers, Dr
Ibrahim Jalo, who was ordered in a letter by the
institution on April 1, to hand over all the university’s
properties in his possession.
