Economic and Financial crime commission (EFCC)
operatives have stormed Taraba state to investigate
the state government on its spending, Daily Trust
learnt.
Investigation revealed that the operatives who came
in their official vehicles have visited some ministries
and departments and collected vital documents.
It was further gathered that the EFCC operatives are
investigating how SURE-P funds were spent as well
as the N38.4 billion bailout fund recently released to
the state by the federal government.
A source at the state’s bureau for local government
and chieftaincy affairs told Daily Trust that EFCC
operatives visited the office at about 11pm Tuesday.
The source said the operatives came to the bureau
in a white bus with registration No Gwa 486G and
held discussions with top officials of the bureau.
