Dissatisfied by the incessant eruption of religious upheavals
in Wukari Local Government Council of Taraba State, the
Jukun Muslims in the area have disassociated themselves
from the crises and have pledged their unflinching support to
the state government and the Federal Government at large.
The Muslims who did not want to be linked with the various
unrest that have erupted in the area which have led to massive
destruction of lives and property drummed that “we are not in
support of any action, behaviour or programme that will
further escalate crises.”
The religious group spoke Sunday while briefing journalists
in Jalingo the state capital on how the mayhem have retarded
the growth of the area, believed that what Wukari is presently
yearning for is peace.
Led by its coordinator, Alhaji Isa Maimako Zhema, said “we
wish to disassociate ourselves from any provocative
comments, actions or statements aimed at escalating the
crises” stressing “Wukari needs peace more than anything to
develop.”
