The fact is no contestant from PDP went to court to
challenge the primary election that produce
Governor Darius Ishaku. So, who took the matter to
court? Was it Aisha? A non member? So, when Aisha
went to court, what matter did she take? Was it PDP
primary election (which did not involve her) or the
general election (which involved her)? So, INEC
claimed it didn't 'supervise' a PDP primary? So, did
the same INEC print PDP on the ballot paper? If PDP
sponsored no candidate, how come the same INEC
printed PDP on ballot papers? Allowed to party to
campaign and even go to polls without raising alarm
about the illegality of such? Last I checked, PDP won
the elections and it's up to the party to unveil the
human behind the ticket. This tribunal or whatever
has made mockery of the judiciary and the law
profession so much that non lawyers like us see the
stupidity behind.
The judiciary under APC governance has been
politicised. The case brought forth by Aisha
concerned the general election but unlike the case I
witnessed in the magistrate court, PDP primaries
were brought up. Issues have now moved from
whether PDP won the general election to PDP
primaries. Parties have the right to not hold primary
elections but present consensus candidates. This
sham cannot continue. APC must be reminded this is
democracy and not medieval kingship.
So, stop celebrating that woman because it is clear
PDP won the elections and that singular fact can
never make her a governor this time around.
