I just read with utter amazement the funny news that
I and my very dear friend, Hon Sani Madaki from
Kano exchanged slaps. This is amusing. Hon Madaki
is my very good friend and is very close to me. We
would never contemplate slapping each other or
should I say, we haven't contemplated that yet. We
have never even had a quarrel talk more of slapping
each other. I'm sure he will be as shocked as I am of
this news that has clearly gone viral. I appreciate that
people need to spread news to popularise their blogs
and or sell their newspapers. I hope this falsehood
helps their cause. I wish them well too. I have also
learnt in the past that some Nigerians (social media
activists cum politicians and all knowing experts) love
to see people get into painful episodes. I wish them
well there too. I hope that given this experience and
the fact that various media houses have been calling
to verify from me what happened, only to learn that
it's all falsehood, people will pay more attention to
verifying stories and not always swallowing them
hook, line and sinker.
