People hailing the tribunal’s ruling sacking Taraba
State Governor Darius Ishaku are doing it out of
mischief, a group has said.
The group, Taraba Mandate Group, said those
supporting the removal of Ishaku were outsiders who
did not know the pulse of the Taraba people.
A statement signed by coordinator of the group, Gani
Bako, added that those supporting the removal of
Ishaku were detractors out to cause confusion in the
state.
The statement condemned some individuals who
called themselves ‘The Muri Group,” in Taraba State,
that reportedly endorsed the tribunal’s judgment,
based on “sectional, tribal and selfish considerations”
saying that the individuals were working “against the
popular will of most Taraba citizens.”
It added: “The APC must have been reeling from the
barrage of attacks by legal luminaries all over the
world, who have maintained that the tribunal’s
judges erred and acted against best practices.
